Default Hood pin question

OK so i have my hood pin kit coming and i bought the stick on ones, not the ones that you have to drill holes with. The question i have is will it come with a template of some sorts? I hate eye balling things and if i dont get it straight it will drive me nuts. How have you guys done this(people that have the stick on kit)?

Nope. No template....I just did mine this weekend. I looked at several cars on this site, PM'ed a few folks that had the appearance I liked, and asked for their approximate pin center measurements. I measured about 20 times, snapped a chalk line from front corner to front corner of the hood, for a reference line, and went for it....I placed the pins in the spot I had measured out, stuck them there temporarily with a piece of masking tape. Then, I basically taped a "box" around the pin, so I could clean that specific area with alcohol, prior to actually placing the pin...this also gives you the exact location to go back to....

Here are the results...

Are the stick on ones better than the ones that you drill into the car? Is it just because the drill ones serve no purpose whatsoever? Also, are the stick on ones going to fall off at some point in time? [&:]

I have real hood pins on my car and yes they do serve a purpose. With a fiberglass hood the corners lift at high speeds. If you have the stick on ones just measure until your happy.

I'm thinking of purchasing a set of these. Where can I find them? Also, how did you mount the lanyards?
