ORIGINAL: bluegill

The REAL Eleanor was a '73 Mach 1... When you get a chance, rent the original movie, it's then you realize how cheezy and tacky Nicolas Cage and the remake was. That '67/'68 was a nice car in it's own right, but it wasn't Eleanor.

Mike
I tend to disagree. The remake was FAR superior.

And that car is hideous. The round look just doesn't work with the angular design of the 05

Interseting car I would take the window, side scoops and the tail lights. I think the whole kit is a little much though. Still looks to be in preproduction I will wait to see what the prod version looks like before i pass judgment

I think Cervini's C-500 kit fits the S197 style better IMO(C-500 is their interpretation of the "Eleanor" look). Their kit only costs $3,700, minus the wheel/tire combo. To each their own.......

I agree. Although that kit might look more like eleanor, I don't like the front end myself, and would take the Cervini kit even if the prices were the same. The beauty for me is that it's not only cheaper, it's a LOT cheaper

That kit is hotter than hot! I really wish I could afford that...Cervini's kit it pretty sweet too but I don't think the front end looks quite right....I love the retro feel.

Yeah, I think Cervini should add the headlight/grille extentions(like on their Boss 302-look car in their ad) to make the headlights seem more recessed and not so huge looking.

I have to agree with this the design makes the car look like a bubble, if the car were not as beefy then maybe since the older stangs were smaller in that sence. Anyway as far as similarity kits there are other companies = Ronale and Cervinis as well as one other that starts with a B i think cant remeber but they all have kits that resemble the movie car.

Personaly I have the Cervinis and love it, but unless you have them do the install find a good body shop that specializes in aftermarket SHOW cars. I saw one at NOPI this weekend that was silver and the wing didn't line up, the pipes were off, there were a few other flaws with the install that were all caused by a shop with no experience but a desire to take the guys money.

As for the price if it includes paint they are on par with others. If you go with a kit like this expect the kit cost around $3500 - $4000 shipped, then for a show quality paint job and install another $7-8K (remeber your repainting 90% of the car) then if you want stripes another $2500-3000 and then of course you need wheels which you can go cheap for about $1800 or quality for $4K+

in all I dont like this new kit, just dosnt follow the lines.

(experience trust me some of you have seen my car and know I have been throught this process)

I'd get the cervini kit and be done with it. Who in a right mind would pay 12000 dollars for a bodykit? cervini actually has the courtesy to install that bodykit with new wheels, lowering springs and side pipes for that money.

To top that off, the rear lights look like **** on some of those pictures. The fact they had enough money to smack that bodykit on a smart car (check out the video) leads me to believe these people are charging way to much for their kit…
