That is a very nice looking Maverick -- from the pictures I would never have expected you did it with the cans.

I bought 9 cans of the the original factory single stage color from

Auto Paint Direct

I did not paint the top of the fenders or trunk .... I stopped at the factory pinstripe on the doors and fenders so it would blend. I did paint the hood. I put a new vinyl top on the car so I didn't have to paint that either.

I used about 3/4 of each can to do the paint since the spray started to get inconsistent as the can emptied. There is just about 0 orange peel. I painted in my garage ... it was cool weather and low humidity. Each panel got about 4 coats ....

I had to paint the car because I removed all the factory side trim ... which left about 25 holes down each side of the car. There were also several dings I fixed while I was at it. After I closed and smoothed the holes and fixed the dings ... the rattle paint went on ...

From what I can tell, looks like you did a great job. Is that a '72 Grabber? Back in the day I had one, 12.25 compression, tunnel ram, 2- 650 Holleys., water injection, gears, cast iron top loader, Centerlines, slicks... OOPS...Sorry! I get a little carried away sometimes!
