How much for the hood, and how much for painting? I assume the hood is drilled to just bolt on, or is there more to it....

The hood was $569... a stock hood was going to be $690! I also got the stainless steel screen and washer nozzle relocation kit... Everything is here: http://mrt-direct.com/2005/Pages/hoods.php

Yes, the hood is ready to bolt on... Prep, paint and labor for thing like the washer relocation ended up being around $400...

Hopefully these 2 pics will give you a feel for how much the two cowls are raised...

Here's a close up of the stainless steel screen...

that hood should get you some good amount of air in there compared to what you used to have.

I read in another post that this isn't your daily driver. But here's my question...if this hood WAS put on a daily driver, what effect would driving in a rainstorm have on those vents? In other words, would a lot of water be getting in under the hood/into an intake?

Regardless, that hood is INCREDIBLE.

Actually it IS my daily driver! (it's also my show car and my race car! LOL!) The car already has 42,000 miles on it (and that's with it being out of commission for over 2 months.. 6 weeks for the motor and 4 weeks for the deer)

As far driving in the rain... not sure how much rain will actually get in... I talked to Cassie from MRT (she has one on her daily driver) and she said it's really not that bad... I know it won't be enough to worry about so I don't... it will just mean some extra time detailing the engine bay for the shows! LOL!
