Deep dish spacing on S197s
OK, this may sound like a dumb noob question, but I was looking at cardomain looking for guys with deep dish bullitts on their s197s. Almost every one I saw had the wheel extending out past the fender lip on the rear, is this common? I didn't notice it much on the fronts, just on the back. I guess logically, the hub has to remain in the same spot, so the wheel has no place to go but out, but I just wanted to check. I'm considering deep dish 18's but don't know if I like that look. I'm kinda partial to keeping it within the confines of the fenderwell.

It's a staggerred stance. running a wider rim and tire in the back. If you want the rims balanced with no difference go with an 18X8.5 all the way around with a 245 or 255 tire whatever is recommended. The wider tires in the back are generally 10 inches in width, with a wider tire such as 275 or 285.

I'm not worried about rubbing, its the look with the wheel and tire sticking out of the wheel well. It looks almost like there are wheel spacers back there pushing them out wider. If I go 18x9, or 18x8.5 all the way around, will they still stick out like that, or will it be closer to stock? Actually, what is the width of the factory 18" polished bullitts?

Part of the problem could also be that they have rims with the wrong offset. Quite a few of the new 05+ put rims on that are for the 99-04 years and those rims do not have the correct offset, making them stick out farther.
