Pictures of my shaker install
I finally found time to install my shaker kit. All I can say is, if you are thinking about ordering this kit, just do it! I am very happy all the way around, it was easy to install (once you get past the thought of chopping a hole in your new car), the Quality is high, it looks beautiful, is functional, and really dresses up the engine compartment when the hood is open! RE: Pictures of my shaker install
The first thing I did was read up on every post I could find. I saw a picture of one car that had shavings all over it, so I knew to wrap the car good, another post recommended that you put the hood inserts on after you install the shaker to the engine so you can make adjustments and get everything lined up good, this was very good advise. The directions tell you to Finnish the hood first, don't do it! Once you stick on the upper ring its permanent and you cant adjust it. My biggest worry was lining the template up. I checked the measurements about five times! I used a razer blade to score the hood, took the template off, and put another two layers of tape on the outside where my jig saw would be riding on the hood. I used a fine metal blade on the jig. There are two small holes on the inside of the hood you will be cutting threw, be careful well you get to these, my jig saw kicked back on me when I hit one, and I was glad I used extra layers of tape. I also cut one side first, re-taped itto dampenvibration, and then finished the cut. I hope this helps someone. I am extremely happy with my new shaker.
