Should Convertibles be Cruisers not Racers?

Should Convertibles be Cruisers not Racers?
Should 2005/up mustang convertibles be left mostly stock and be left as more subdued cruisers? I feel that I should not"soup up " my convertible due to this reasoning. The big time modifying should be left to the hardtops. Any comments on this theory?

Idon't know. I've thought about this myself. I don't see anything wrong with going with some minor performance mods (CAI, tune, etc.) But I'm on the fence as to if I would ever go with something major like a supercharger or turbo.

the car was built to run , whether hardtop or convertible, the factory made the car very stiff so you do not even need sub frame connectors. I auto cross mine and also drag race it. I do have a CAI for the street and the drag strip, but revert back to stock intake for autocrossing, I have tokico spec 4 adj struts/shocks, a steeda front sway bar and Falken Azeni tires for autocrossing, they also grip really great at the drag strip. I was STU class champion last year in autocrossing. and the car runs 8.6 at 81 MPH in the 1/8 mile. i am very very happy with the car

Hmmmn.....Let me think on that. LOL! Race it!, Cruise it! Use it! It's plenty stiff enough totake it, especially with braces and subconnectors. Besides there's no better rush (literally) than going topless at 110-120 mph on an open road course.

It is up to you, but to some it would suprise the hell out of them to have the looks and fun of a convertible and the power to go with it...(S/C). Mod away and have fun with the changes! Yes I have a coupe. Just wanted to put my 2 cent in. J
