Upgrade To Stock Headlights

RE: Upgrade To Stock Headlights
SOHCman I feel your pain about the lack of street lights. I live in a desert town, and none of the side streets, and most of the "main" have street lights. Thanks for the advice on the new bulbs. That is what I did, and I love the difference. Now I can scare the coyotes tend to go the opposite direction from me, instead of standing there stupified!

These "city boys" never drove in "real darkness" before!
We've got lots of twisting roads with rivers on one side with 30 foot drop offs and no guard rails. We have lots of winding roads through forests. Andon top of that we get FOG! Not the puffy stuff these guys get in the city. We get the full blown "you can't see your hood ornament" fog.
Makes country roads really fun when there is snow on the ground too.
Dark, Snow, Fog, Winding, Twisty roads with no guardrails next to rivers and forests.
I love the country!
No, really, I do.

PS: Here's a nice morning

RE: Upgrade To Stock Headlights
I agree with you man. I love the country to. Before living in this desert, only because the Marine Corps told me to go here, I was stationed around Washington DC. I hardly had to use my brights there, and I felt a little stifled. I grew up in farm country Iowa. Granted, no windy roads through the forrest, but dark gravel roads under a stary sky. I also loved those roads when snow was on them. To be honest, I miss the snow, fog, and the rain. (It rained here yesterday for the first time in 9 months!) BTW that is a beautiful morning. I hope to see mornings like that again in August when I am transferred back to Virginia.

RE: Upgrade To Stock Headlights
I think we just got super lucky to find this spot.
We have a view out our front yard at 4 mountain ranges (well, not quite mts).
We have pasture, forest and a babbling brook.
We see the most amazing sunrises and sunsets I've ever seen!
The 24" inches of snow in one storm is the only other drawback.
Oh, and the MUD, and the bugs, and the coyotes, and the bear, oh my!
Here's a few shots in my album you can check out.
