any way to remove stock antenna?

RE: any way to remove stock antenna?
Cost me $104 to have the antenna removed and filled, the washer nozzles likewise, and the mirrors painted. I had some other work done at the same time so YMMV.
I had an 8" shorty before and there's no comparison between that and the smooth fender line I have now.
On the powered internal antenna - works really well (although I got ok reception out of the 8"). The amplified part (actually powering the antenna) only seems to make a difference in my am reception <shrug>
