Thespecs that I dug up on a couple of tech sites many moons ago put the official weight of the aluminum 05+ hoods at 25-28 lbs. Whether that is totally accurate or not, I couldn't tell u. I don't know anyone who has actually weighed their own stock hood. But it is fairly light for a hood of its size.........that much I do know. And most fiberglass hoods for these cars are considerably heavier. The only way to get a lighter hood on your new mustang is to go carbon fiber.
