[:@]Has anyone had problems with the striping on the hood on a 2007 GT with the factory scoop (GT pappearance package)? I had the two 10-inch white stripes added to my GT in December by the dealership. The front of the scoop starting digging into the stripes causing it to "ripple around the two front corners of the stripe. Also in the back of the scoop, between the stripes, they started to come up off the hood. The dealer just replaced the stripes about three weeks ago and now it's doing it again. The hood does get naturally hot and I don't know if they take that into account? They said there was a Ford bulletin about installing the stripes (with scoop) a different way using spacers. I assume they did it this way the second time, but I don't know. I'm taking it to the dealer for the third time today!

Any thoughts??? Thanks.

Consult Baltimore Stree Mustangs or BSM they sem to do the job right.

I don't think it is an issue with the stripes themselves. It is the striping kit from Ford Racing.

I think it's an issue with the hood temperature and the scoop, one or maybe both.

Vibration, heat, etc...

I would think this would have surfaced somewhere else in the US?

I'll shoot BSM an email and see what they say also. Thanks.

Well I have had my stripes since I bought it in 02/06 and they starting looking like that around the hood scoop within a few weeks. However I'd bought the car from a dealer four states away and I thought it may be considered normal wear and tear. I wish I would have just taken it to some dealer and tried to get it fixed with that spacer thing you mentioned also. I'd be very interested to know how it goes. Well, I can reassure you that after well over a year of daily driving the problem hasn't really gotten any worse. Also, this is all on a mustang with the Roush hood scoop and vinyl stripe kit which I would assume would be very similar.
