Anyone love underhood chrome?

RE: Anyone love underhood chrome?
Yeah the real ones are cool. Very hotroddy. The way I look at it though, the covers are like $35....so you can always throw those on and if you don't like it, you can save up and put on the expensive ones.
The braided covers are enough to do all the major hoses, but there will be vacuum lines etc that will not be covered.
I am not sure that the braided lines would be too much as far as "chrome" goes (they are not chrome of course but metal). Anyway, I think it would just kind of get the hoses to blend in and not stand out like turds in a golden toilet..
Again, my opinion is that a polished blower and polished valve covers would be really cool and not too much. It would certainly stand out, but being that close to "over the top" is sort of what you're aiming for when you spruce up something like this. TRUELY over the top would be all chrome all over, silver engine block, all lines chrome or braided, polished bolts all over, etc etc.
Again my vote is polished (not chrome, but more like brushed) across the top of the block. All this talk about it is makingME want to do it! Who wants to donate a supercharger to my cause???

RE: Anyone love underhood chrome?
Alright man, lets say $$ is not an issue. Heres what I'm thinking:
Polished KB supercharger
Polished valve covers
Chrome radiator, heater hoses with red end caps from coolflex
Red electrical wire covers
Red spark plug wires
Polished fuse box cover
Polished Radiator cover
And polished caps (brake fuild, etc.)
What do you think??

The only thing I think I wouldn't do is the red wire covers, but I'd have to see it to really decide.
If you do this, PLEASE post pics so we can all be inspired!

RE: Anyone love underhood chrome?
Well it looks like you are my kind of guy. So what would you do with all the electical wiring then...just leave it stock black to offset all the chrome. I've been trying to post some before pics of my engineand some after pics of my exterior, but I am pretty new at this and I keep getting a message that says my file is too large. Any help would be appreciated. I would love for you to see my baby! Let me know what you are thinking on the wires. Thanks
