I've seen this done a few times. Good idea, bad idea? I was thinking of using my left over caliper paint to dress them up in red. Also have any of you used a clearcoat on your calipers to help them shine?

but about the clear coat, i just did mine, and they shine pretty good

How many coats of base did you use before the clearcoat. Also, if I am going to be completely removing the calipers from the rotors, do I still need to use a brush on kit, or is that mainly because some don't take the calipers completely off and its easier to controll the mess??

I was going to paint mine but I heard a couple of complaints about them peeling so I decided to polish them instead.

I just used wenol, they actually polished up really quick.

So you didn't coat them with anything? Got any pics of them?

No I didn't coat them with anything. This is the best pic I've got of them at this moment.

Wow, those did clean up nice. Are you happy with your valve covers or would you go with polished as well. I'm still trying to decide which I want to do.

no i mean that i just painted them red, no clear coat, and they shine really nice..

maybe a clear coat on the fuel rails would be a good idea tho.. but needs to be high temp..
