I was wondering what that "line" down the middle of the door is called. I've only seen it on mine and a couple other mustangs. Is it undesirable or does it just not come with many of the cars?

From what I understand that is called a dealer strip, because dealers install it after they get the cars in. Its just a painted bump guard.

Bump strip is another name, usually put on rental cars and not taken off when they are sold to the public.

Theypeel right off in the sun, I had them on my car. Peeled them off and cleaned the door with goo be gone (read the label though!)

Bump guard, boss was correct, usually found on rentals that are sold. Goo-be-Gone, or a Isopropyl (rubbbing) alcohol will work. (rub any adhesive off with an alcohol soaked cotton T-****).. tis will remove any adhesive after you remove the strip.

Use WD-40 to remove adhesive/blemishes from your paint. It will break down adhesive's and not harm the paint. It works just as good, if not better than goo-be-gone.
