What do you guys think? Most people either love it or hate it. I hear from a lot more that love it...

I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber look. To me it screams "look at me! I dressed my car up to make everyone think it's a racecar!"

This of course is always answered by people relentlessly defending carbon fiber and stating its obvious advantages over steel or fiberglass (although the stock hood is aluminum). Regardless of any advantage or the racecar heritage, carbon fiber is something commonly found on Civics and the like, and therefore leave a bad taste in my mouth whenever I see it.

In addition to that, the hood looks like an exaggerated Saleen hood, with additional heat extractors (I guess?) in the middle. I prefer the quiet, classy look over flashy.

But if you like it, that's all that matters.

Actually my stock hood was some sort of polymer/fiberglass. It's definitely not aluminum. I thought I would be shaving a bit of weight along with the appearance factor, but they actually weighed about the same. Swapped the hoods by myself in about 30 minutes. Nothing to it other than the windshield squirters that have to be detached/reattached.

The other thing you can do with the SS hood is remove the "rain-guards" on sunny days. You can see a good bit of the engine/headers/cai intake with the guards removed. I think it's pretty trick looking.

And the major reason I looked at this hood is that it gives lots of clearance for the Saleen supercharger I'm saving for. It will also be pretty cool I think to remove the rainguards and be able to see the supercharger under there....

I dont know how you didnt get an aluminum hood. My 2007 GT has an aluminum hood. I know this because I had hail dents pulled from it a few months back.

I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber either. I think its ricey. But if you like it and your buddies like it................
