Default rear bumper cover - repaint or replace???

Hi everybody,

I have an '07 V6 that I bought used. There are several horrible scratches on the top of the bumper cover from people sliding things when they placed or removed items from the trunk. [:@]

Would you think it would be cheaper and easier to have this repainted, or to just go to the dealership and get a new one and replace it myself. Can the dealership order one already painted? Has anyone done anything like this themselves?

Thanks!

Michael

Well Michael, do yo plan on going duals in the future? Many here have cut the second hole for the exhaust while others have opt to purchase a GT bumper with dual cut outs.
Painting it might be the same price as buying a GT takeoff bumper.

Get the GT takeoff and go dual exhaust. Takeoffs are cheap. You can get a takeoff and dual exhaust for way less than the price of a dealer remove, paint and reinstall.

+100 to getting a takeoff instead of a repaint... Unless you have some friend at some local shop willing to give you a killer deal or some other type of trade deal, it would cost a bit more than what it would be worth. I'd go for the takeoffs from a GT and it'd save you the time of cutting the holes out yourself from the stock v6 anyhow if that's the case.

Dealer buy would be pricey as well... as is most everything from them.

Good luck!

I have a full GT rear end (and front end) that I need to move to help pay for a Shelby complete conversion. Let me know.
