Default Cervini 3" Cowl ?

I've always liked the way acowl hood looks and I am strongly considering the Cervini 3 inch. Just wondering what the pros and cons are of a cowl hood, fitment, painting, vision etcand also i have aftermarket hood struts will i still be able to use them ?...thanks in advance for your comments...

I would try seing one in person if you havent yet. That big of a mod you dont want something you may not be happy with. Its the only way to ne sure youll be happy.

I love my 2.5" cowl from Steeda. Find a good bodyshop of course, some prep and fitment will be needed, along with a good paint job. I am unable to use my MRT hood struts, the fiberglass hood just flexes too much and creates a bulge on the sides when closed. I pop them on for shows tho.

I have been shopping steeda hoods, but they fail to explain the difference between the race cowl hood and the "normal" cowl hood(roughly 200 difference).Which one do you have?To further complicate things,i see some websites calling this hood by different names and i am not sure which one they are talking about(race or normal).I am also under the impression after talking to someone who was a BIG distributor of steeda hoods and now is not, that steeda does not seem to back their products.Alot to figure here and i don't mean to stir anything up,but i thought there should be little to no prep work on these before paint and i appreciate any further insight.

As far as I know the difference is a little weight, and the race has 2 openenings ini the cowl, vs mine, the regular one has only one, in the drivers side.

There was no prep or paint involved with mine, so I can offer help there.
I bought it used(300) from a friend already in my color.
His car went from the factory, right to Steeda, they did all the work

Thanks, that sets me straight on some things.Don't suppose i could be so lucky you have a before/after of your ait's(intake temps)?I have been told by someone that this hood(race)did cut cool down times by half between runs...

No, sorry, no temp info. But when you drive you can see the rain that rolls off the hood kinda get sucked into/towards the hole. And when parked the heat comes rolling out the cowl.

+1

I don't have any temp data either but you can see the heat roll out when not moving and this fall I had some leave get sucked in there when I was move at a brisk pace. The visablity isn't an issue for me but my shorter wife hates it...

Good Luck to you!!!!!!
