I just installed this third brake light.

I noticed that whenever the car is off the leds stay on very faintly. Is this normal? I don't want it to drain my battery if I need the car to sit for a while.

I'm sure one of the experts will chime in, but I believe that the SJB tends to leave a bit of voltage on some of the lights even when they're not on. Not a factor with incandescents, but can trigger LEDs on. I seem to remember someone having this problem with LEDs they installed in the interior - you might try searching and see if you can find anything about that.

I just noticed the same thing. I'm mailing my 3rd brake light to the guy that painted my tail lights but in the mean time I purchased the LED smoked one from American Muscle.

ONFIR - tell him to look for it in the mail in the next week or so.

I wanted to try this light due to its brightness with the other lights being so dark now for safety. I like it but not sure about the faint light it has. If I can't see it the daytime I can deal with it. If not I'll just put the tinted factory light in.

What's the deal?

Any resolution on this issue?
