Default 18" Razors & Nitto 555's

I just got my new wheels/tires installed last night. All I can say is WOW! It makes a huge difference in the look of the car. I had the ugly 16"s so it is a huge improvements.

I went with the 18" American Racing Razors.. not the Shelby one's.

Front: 18x9 - 40mm offset
Rear:18x9 - 24mm offset

That means the back sticks out wider than the front :P

I went with the Nitto 555 Extreme Performance tires, and did a staggered fit on those as well.

Front: 255/45/18's
Rear: 285/40/18's

I think it came out well, the staggered look fits really well and I love how it looks. I need to get springs now to get rid of the fender gap, but that will come later. I will take better pictures tonight, but here is a sneak peak.

Your car looks great!
Going from 16s with more tirewall to 18s with less tirewall,
have you noticed a difference in ride quality?
If so, can you please describe?

How much were those wheels and where did you find them?

Thanks.

I noticed a pretty decent change in ride quality, but it isn't necesarilly bad. The back tires are much wider, so when cornering you can feel the difference. It has a more sporty feel definately. You can tell they are wider tires. The ride feels stiffer, so you no longer have that "cushion" when going over bumps, but I like the stiffer ride. Overall it feels good, I think an improvement, but I didn't buy my car for the smooth ride

Pricing, I bought them at Discount Tire in Houston, I got the TPMS sensors swapped out of my old rims/tires and got the bands, and road hazard and everything. It cost me $1800 for everything. Except I had a hard time getting the rims, as I don't think they are making them anymore. I wanted 24mm offset all the way around, but they could only get 2 24mm offset and 2 40mm offset, so I went staggered.

Nice wheels and tires! I almost got the AR Razors but when with the 18"AR Rogue's instead, in black I like the 555's but I need more rain/all-weather tires. I noticed awesome ride quality with the bigger wheels and wider tires! I can't wait to drop her 1.5" and get front/rear swaybars and stiffer suspension!!

Being in Houston, I only have to worry about rain. The 555's had 4 stars for wet traction, so I am hoping it will be ok.

And yea I agree, I was going to do suspension last, but now I really want to drop it an inch and a half. I think I am going with the FRPP springs.

other than the 4x4 stance (which nightime pics with flash really brings out), your car looks awesome!

Yea it was actually early this morning when I got to work. I don't like the pics, it looks so much better in person. If it isn't raining tomorrow ill get some more pics.

The price difference between 18"s and 20"s isn't much, but I didn't want 20"s. They look good, but the 18"s look a little more old school/muscle car look and have a little bit better ride quality. Plus I paid extra for the TPMS/bands & road hazard
