You may be able to save a few dollars (literally) by getting the nuts and bolts at a hardware store, but it is not worth the time and effort, I think. The real expensive parts you need, and there is nothing you can do about that. Trust me, no matter how many pics you see on converted Stangs, nothing beats seeing your finished product. It is worth it!

So, to the OP, were you happy with the prices? I just took your list and ran it past a local dealer (well ok, a friend who has a "shop discount") and just got called back with the price..... $1420.
I figure thats prolly as good a price as I can get. I guess when he faxed the parts list over they were real surprised with the numbers that you were able to get. To hear him talk it was like they were suppose to be secret or something by the way they acted over it.....Well, that and the fact that they couldnt comprehend why on earth anyone would wanna do this conversion, which did make me chuckle pretty good.
As much as I'd like to do it earlier, short of a money tree blooming in my backyard this spring, I have a feeling this is gonna be a "next winter" project for me (prolly gonna take that long to convince the wife and get the cash up for the parts and paint). Since your list doesnt have the hood cost added (Trufiber $720 if I get lucky and find it on sale at some point) I guess I need to round up around $3000 I'm thinking. What did your final price end up at for your conversion if you've done it yet?
