Default smoked lights

I was considering get my front/back lights of my car smoked. After searching the forum it seems that I have a couple options.

1) I could buy covers for the lights
2) Get them painted at a shop(same as tinted right?)

Should I buy these:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-mus...ht-covers.html

or should I go to a shop and get it done there?

Also, which would be cheaper?

ALSO ALSO! By doing this, does it dim the intensity of the lights?

Sorry for the million questions, just kinda confused.

I don't think they are legal in Ohio Rear lights have to be Red not sure about the front. A smoked License plate cover is like a 98 dollar fine here to.

i bought those same tail light covers, and they are terrible. they look nice from a distance, but they don't even completely fit, and they are just overall tacky looking in my opinion.

I'm going to go with "yes" on tint/paint "dimming" the "intensity" of any lights on your car. If you want to draw interest to your tailights, I would suggest sequentials (althought I don't have them myself) ........ I would leave the front lights stock, or if anything, add fogs for better visibility.

You might want to try this stuff from american muscle: Spray

I only like this option the most because you can control how light or dark it is (by adding more coats of the paint) Looks like it works well too.

i would use the vinyl smoked kit from stangmods.com theyre 59.95 to do both tail lights. i did both of mine in 10 minutes and they dont dim the tail lights at all.

Heres more pics of the car w/ the GT front end and the smoked taillights. it has buillet wheels 17x8 in front and 17x9 in the rear. i just had the 8.8" rear end installed with 3.73 gears.

Can you get a pic of them while you are braking by any chance?
