Hood Stripe Question

Hood Stripe Question
I am looking at getting a single 22" wide hood stripe painted on. I have a 2007 Roush Stage 1, and really like the ROush P-51 Mustang hood stripe, and want to do the same.
A local shop that some Mustang guys recommended quoted me $400 Canadian to paint and re-clear coat the entire hood. Do you think this is a good deal?
Also, how do they remove the clear from the hood before doing the stripe? Do they sand the clear from the entire hood or just the stripe location?
I told them I did not want an edge along the stripe sides.
Thanks,

RE: Hood Stripe Question
Well, $400 is an awsome price. I would bet that the shop is talking about putting an edge on the color. I can't imagine that for $400 that they would sand down the entire hood then match the stock color to put the stripe into the same level. If they did that I would also say that to blend they would go into the fenders. I would have it all in writing before so that there is no misunderstanding. Once they mess with the stock paint on the hood, Then you will never be able to get that back into the same condition. It will either be a crappy insurance paint job or a super expensive paint job that will outdo the rest of the car.
Writing is the way to make sure it is done right.
