Default Clueless to sandpaper (question)

I just recieved my louvers (which came in gloss black) in the mail and was wondering what grit sandpaper would be appropriate to make them look flat black. I've never sanded anything before and would apprectiate some tips. Thanks!

Please tell me your kidding. NO sandpaper. It will NOT make a gloss black coat of paint look like flat black. All it will do is make it look like scratched black.

It actually came out pretty nice. No 'scratched' look at all. I'll post in a bit

you could have just bought some krylon matte clear coat and sprayed it on real fast to dull it up...pry used 1500 or 2000 didn't you?if you're a DIY person, you can trim out your stock wheels in flat black or i did mine in gloss and makes em look a million times better - about like the old rims

flat black spoiler too!

that would tie in the flat black look all the way through.

Matte out those side mirrors as well.

+1 on Freds suggestion for a matte black spoiler.

matte those rocker panels as well?

I think the flat black gives these cars a really nice "retro look."

I'm going to install the stock gt spoiler and blackout the hood also. As for rims, I'm saving up for some mach 1's (dont know what they're called). I'm glad you like her, she's still a work in progress
