RE: Best place for new hood
oem hood IS that expensive and actually could work out to be the best deal.....
There will be no prep with the OEM hood, just paint and put back on....aftermarket hoods all require alot of prep and still require paint. So it just depends on those additional costs

There is your cheapest and best choice. Its already painted so you get it to your door for around $500 maybe

Look at the classifieds. There are always stock hoods for sale. Here's one dirt cheap.

RE: Best place for new hood
Cervinis make good quality hoods, from what I understand then tend to need little prep work. Most other fiberglass hoods need significantly more.
If you think you would get an aftermarket hood later anyone just buy the one you want and use the insurance money to go toward it, cheaper in the long run.
If you dont care about having an aftermarket hood ever, then get a new take off in your color and be done with it.
Good Luck.
P.S. I personally love the Steeda 2" cowl, but that is just me.
