Removing headlight splitters

Removing headlight splitters
I have a set of headlight splitters that I want to put on the car but I'm not sure if, or how long I'm going to keep them on. Did anybody take theirs off and was there any permanent damage to the headlight lenses? Taking the 3M residue off of a painted surface is one thing but what about the clear plastic?

RE: Removing headlight splitters
I have no idea about how to take them off, but let me tell you, that 3M tape freaking STICKS. Mine are on like you wouldn't believe. You'd probably have to get them off with a piece of floss or something, then spend forever hitting it with Goo-Gone to remove the rest.
That said, I love the look and won't be ever taking them off.

havent taken the splitters off but have removed a louver off of glass, I just heated it up with this baby space heater i have and used some kind of chemical made by 3m i believe to dissolve the glue, came off easy, 15 min job. I doubt it would be much harder on the plastic

Thanks for the replies, sounds like it shouldn't be a problem to take them off in caseI change my mind. You know how it is... I like them now but I could get sick of looking at them later on... [8D]
