Default Price question - Vinyl Racing Stripes - AZ area

Hi folks,

Ok, I am starting to think serious about getting stripes on my baby and I need some help. I live in Phoenix, AZ. Does anyone know of a good shop in this area that does vinyl stripe installation for a good price? I priced it at the dealership and they are quoting me around $500.00 for the stripes and installation. Is this a good price? Can I do better?

Here is a pic of my bare bones baby:

just ask them what the cost for install is then just buy the stripes from BSM and have it cheaper. they probably say the stripes are 250 themselves
you'll chop another 150 off that price
go with 10 inch whites I'd say.

You'll probably find that the local shops will charge $400-$600 for vinyl stripes and install. You can certainly save money. Look on ebay, and you'll find stripe kits for $60-$200. I bought 12" blue stripes from Baltimore Street Mods, off of ebay, for $140. Two different local shops quoted me $380 and $450 for install. NO WAY! I did it myself!

There are some great "how to" threads on the forum; and the Baltimore Street Mods kit is packed with some good instructions.
If you go slow, I have no doubt that you can do it. It took me 9 hours over two days. The big parts are easier--(hood, roof, decklid) the only trickier parts are the bumpers. Getting the vinyl to lay right over the contours of the bumper takes patience.

It's worth it.. everytime you look at the work YOU did, you'll feel proud. Good luck!

Some of the vinyl pieces that go around the contours of the bumper and the curves on the decklid overlap. One piece has to dry before you overlap part of it with another piece. A slow, careful job ensures that you won't see the seams. So, factoring the wait times for certain areas to dry first, it took me 9 hours.

Liam there is a shop on Craigslist that sells the stripe kit (the whole car bumper to bumper) for like $50 bucks. Check http://phoenix.craigslist.org/pts/644443542.htmlI would install them yourself. I mean think about it, even if you messed up five times you'd still save $250? Hope this helps! Tyler
