Default Polished or Chrome

I have been considering getting some wheels. I know that polished usually tarnishes but it is cheaper even though it might not shine as bright as the chrome. So what are some other differences between polished and chrome

I had chrome rims on my old car and while i cant argue they did look amazing when clean. When they got dirty they looked really bad and they chipped and the chrome peeled because of the rocks/salt from the roads(in michigan)

Removeal of Ploished or Chrome is a must if living in a snow belt area with salt so 2 sets of rims are a must and both have draw backs if not clearcoated polish must be polished a lot slave to your rims chrome can chip / from rocks or peel if the chrome is not thick but need polished too to keep looking nice but chrome will look better but nicks and stuff can be sanded out of polished Alum. If I get another set I will try chrome because I have polished alum. now both are nice.

i have chrome, and curbed it a little bit. i wanted to get it fixed, but the place that used to do it doesnt anymore, too much work. they still do polished aluminum tho. my opinion is chrome looks better but is harder to keep nice lookin. so kinda make a deal w/ the devil sort of thing. so choose your poison.

Chrome is nice but like others have said polished can be more forgiving. Keep either away from the salt!

I'd go with polished. I've never been a fan of chrome wheels.

I have chrome and love the look, when they're clean. They will pit and peel, so again, avoid winter wear. However, I love the shine over the polished, so I'm willing to take the additional time to keep them clean.
