Satin Gauge Bezel

Satin Gauge Bezel
Does anyone know if any models came with a satin finish gauge bezel as opposed to the chrome one? Or if anyone has an aftermarket one? I've found satin air vents and can't find that gauge bezel.

You mean on my car? That's just the plain old stock black panels on mine. I would imagine you could order it from Ford if you like it that much. I like it plain black too.

Now you gotta pull out the guage bezel and sand it too Dave! I taped up all the black plastic so I wouldn't damage it, then sanded like the other bezels. It's harder but it looks great.

didn't know they offered a plain black. i saw it on a roush and was sold. until the dealer told me 450 for it all. i was like the fu..? it's either that or the charcoal weave pattern that's on the gt500's.

suoperdave84 / mtas , I like the look and just might take some 400 grit to them today. Any other advice besides taping off the guage bezels and doing them while there still intalled?
I noticed one of you used 600 vs 400.
Thanks

The 400 and 600 will be fairly similar. Looking back I might have gone with 400 for a slightly rougher look.
The only tips I can think of are how to get the parts out of the car.
For the vents, stick your thumbs inside them, grab a hold of them, and pull straight out. Then once you have the vent out, you need to take the metal bezel off the plastic part of the vent. It pops right off too...you will see how when you have it out.
For the gauge bezel, I think you need to lower your steering wheel to the lowest position, and just like the vents, grab a hold of the entire cluster and pull straight to you. You will not be able to separate the metal bezel of the guage cluster from the plastic part of the dash, so you will need to tape around it and cover the plastic parts so that you don't accidentally scuff it with the sandpaper.
You can probably do this in an hour or two.
Note: The bezels are chrome plated plastic, and not solid metal. You shouldn't have any problem sanding too deep, but just keep in mind that there IS a point where you can sand too deep. Be careful and only sand as much as you need to.
