Default Magnetic Blackout Panel.

Hi there.
I was thinking about getting one of those magnetic blackout panels.
I remember on my old durango the ribbon magnets that we put on it to show support of the war effort made the paint under the magnets white.
Has anyone ever had that happen, and will the blackout panel between the tail-lights (if a magnetic one) mess up the paint underneath it?

I had one on my V6 for almost 2 years before I sold it. There was no difference in the paint when I took it off. I will say, however, that I made it routine to clean underneath it and when doing waxing, make sure I waxed that area. As long as you take care of that area, I don't think you'll have any problems.

I had one on for a few months as a test to see if I really wanted the SHR Honeycomb panel, just to get the general idea. The area behind mine suffered no ill effects. The only things to keep in mind is that absolutely an bit of dirt or dust will cause it to show bumps on the panel and second, the panel scratches super easy.

I had mine on few a few weeks, and noticed little areas where it was bubbled. I know it was clean underneath, so they sent me another. Still the same deal, so I went with the following and much happier.

I bought this from partscheap.com too, but it's a bit more expensive:
