Default Exhaust tips?

Looking for a quick and easy appearance mod to spend a little Christmas money on. I always wanted to fill up the GT rear bumper exhaust pipe cutouts better than the oem upgrade tips I have now. I was thinking about these GT Shelby tips:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...1%7C240%3A1318

Anyone know if these are a bigger diameter than what I have and will they fit stock GT bumper? Also, would these be condidered "poser-ish"?

Feel free to recommend other tips you think will work.

They are the same as the regular Ford ones that slip over the stock muffler tip as far as size goes. I went with the Ford ones because the Shelby ones require welding, and the Ford ones clamp on, and cost less.

Here's a website that specializes in exhaust tips........chrome and stainless. I bought some for my 4 cylinder Milan and the quality is great.

I got my tips From Fast Toys. One thing you have to be very careful with tips is the fact that you will see the old tips inside the new tips. The only way around this is to cut the old tips as close to the muffler as possible and then tack weld the new tips in place.

At first I was very hesitant on going with tips that had to be welded but my local Midas dealer did it for me in about 10 minutes and they only charged me $15. They cut off the old tips with a sawzall and then tack welded the new tips directly to the muffler.

I did a write up and was as thourough as I could. I took measurements and as many pictures as I thought would be necessary to explain how it's done. Hope this helps:

On tips a couple items I would consider:
1. Are they 304 or 409 Stainless. A good 304 will maintain better than a 409. A 409 over time will yellow due to the lower NI content.
2. 3.5" or 4". I prefer 4" as it fills up the valence hole better.
3. Weld on or clamp on. If it clamps on try to use a band clamp. If it clamps on is it at least 18 gauge so you can weld it if you like.
4. What does it look like on the car.

I will post some of mine later.

I agree that some aftermarket ones look much better than the plain ones that come stock on the car.
