As much as I love black cars, they're harder to keep clean and looking good than any other color. I find my alloy easier to keep clean and I get a lot of compliments but if I had to do it over again I'd get the dark blue or black. Don't get me wrong. The alloy is classy and unique.
As far as stripes, I don't car for them. The alloy, depending on the light, has a hint of gold or tan tones to it so I'd either consider gold or silver but I was in the minority. There's been a few threads on this in the past.

I also love black cars have owned a few, but they are a PITA to clean. So when shopping for my Mustang, I wanted something unique and Alloy fit the bill. It looks real dark at night and just pops in the light since it's metallic.
Alloy all the way!!

I really like Alloy but I own a Black GT. If I had to choose it'd definetely be black again. I have the Cervini's Ducktail Fin Spoiler, its very big and takes up your rear view but I love the look of it. Also I plan on doing Matte Black stripes down the center, and smoking all my tail lights.

If you have a garage and time to clean your car, get black. Also look around for some of the aftermarket body parts you want and see if they are offered in alloy. A lot of the ebay companies that sell parts still won't paint anything in alloy because its such a rare color. However, I do love my alloy and get lots of complements on it because its so rare.

Gotta go with the Alloy here as well. When in a pinch, the car can go weeks without looking "dirty". Although I advise against not washing your car, bad weather, timing, blah blah blah it still looks good. I have had a lot of people ask me what color it is, and I love telling them its alloy. Dont get me wrong, a good black stang, washed and waxed, looks amazing. But theres something about having color that not all car manufactures will produce. It is true that some companies dont have the alloy option, but if they dont, stay away from them anyway! Again, maybe a bias opinion being that I have a '09 Alloy Glassback, but I think its a damn good choice.

Black was my original choice... When I saw the first alloy I fell in love. I can't see me getting the amount of compliments I get with a plain black car.
The alloy flake is actually a green/blue green color. It looks great in the sunlight. And natural carbon fiber parts blend perfectly. Also looks great with black colored parts.
