Thank you all for the feedback. I think I'll have to put this on the "To do list" in the future, as this is my DD.

Why do you say that? Do you have them, or have you had them?

I wish Shelby/Borla would make their Terlingua side exhaust available.

I'v been running my side exh. for over a yr now and only scraped once. Made my pipes and muffler, and tucked them close to the frame, they hang 1/2" lower than the stock pipes.I bought the side exh rockers from Kaenen $300. and made the rest for under $100.

Would love to hear more about this, what all did you use, did you have a shop do it, etc. ?

Because the general consensus is that these cars are not designed to have them unless you get one like the GTR from bash performance and they cut and mod the sheet metal just past the doors and above the frame rail (may have been a concept version). I have side exhaust and have not scraped but am not lowered and have to plan where I go and it is not a DD. Only in certain areas can you get away with side exhaust and lowering and cover more areas without lowering. Take very turn on a severe angle (plazas, driveways to homes- I can't go up some driveways, forget about potholes and speed bumps-hopefully you can reverse or turn around).....JMO PM me for pics and any other info

I styled mine after BBR's on their web site. I did cut the pinch weld down to keep the pipes closer to the body. I also used 3"dia tubing on the tail pipes then after welding it all together I put them in a press and squished them down to 1 1/2". I know everyone thinking this is going to hurt flow it did not .We tested flow thru stock pipe and pressed pipe and pressed still flowed better. Also I have dropped the rear with a eibach pro kit, this car gets driven every day and have not had 1 problem with exh.

Default Side Exhaust

I've been contemplating this for my GT. My plan was to use catted mid pipes transitioning into cherrybomb model 87522 (which are 2 1/2 pipes that are only 12 inches long)...then use oval pipes from Dr Gas to transition out the side. My thought was that the oval pipes would give a lower profile out the side. It shouldnt be that expensive, the mufflers are less than $50 each and the tubing is around $150. They also sell round to oval transition peices.

I had read in other places that you dont want to go with an off road mid pipe with a side exhaust because of the noise.

my .02
