Foose hood with a stock GT fascia on an Alloy GT vert??
So... not a big fan of the stock GT hood scoop and in hindsight I should have not bought a lot car and ordered one without (but I got antsy and wanted one for the summer!!). To address this and really change things up, I was looking into a GT500 conversion for the front end, but was "bit" by blower bug instead.
But now I am looking at a couple lower $$ options to achieve a cleaner look and have a line on an aluminum Foose hood (new). I would keep the stock GT front, painted CDC chin (on order from RPI), GT500 or V6 spoiler (still debating, but the GT one has to go), and Shelby CS69 wheels in hyper-black (later this year).
Any thoughts on how that hood might look simply painted body color? Also thought about maybe painting the raised area black?? My first choice for hoods that fit the stock front is the Saleen, but a metal one (if you can find it) would be crazy priced. And I don't want a ram air hood as I plan to maintain the stock air cleaner (one of the things I like about the Edelbrock SC).
Am I way off, or would this hood flow ok as I have been unable to find a photo of one on a non-Foose Stallion car?

Pascal, they do look good with a shaker sticking out!
I think it would give mine a nice clean look, yet add a little subtle flair with the raised area. And considering the price I have worked out, not sure its a deal I can walk away from.
What's a typical hood run for paint considering this one is a new aluminum piece?

It's well made. Straight and it fits perfectly.
I did a little bit of work around the Shaker hole edges.
I did smooth them out since there were small marks from the mold press.
Nothing a shop can't handle...
Painting both sides after etch/epoxy primer (comes in bare aluminum) runs about $550.

Thanks Pascal. I was fairly sure these came unfinished based on photos I had seen at CDC, but this one has some type of dark coating (looks like a primer or sealer). The seller claims it came that way, but think he got at an auction or something as he does not even own a S197. I guess without knowing the finish, they might need to strip it to ensure it was done with an etching primer, right?
I know a good painter, so I may just give him a ring this week and see what he says. Unfortunately this thing is not close by, so I need to get my mind made up before wasting 8 hours round trip to go look at it (and hopefully buy it).
