Oil filler neck modification - delete?

This post is very timely as I was just looking at that otherwise ugly looking filler neck while doing some of the SC install stuff. Based on what I just read here, that tube will be gone... along with needing to do something with my otherwise fugly stock valve covers as I really don't want to install those Edelbrock covers. I am seriously considering just having the valve covers painted Alloy when my new hood goes in for paint
