Default 18 Inch polished Bullitts

I just purchased used 18 Inch polished Bullitts, 2 of the rims have nicks and scratches. I already used Meguiars Aluminum Wheel polish but it didn't do much on the scratches. I was wondering if any one had a method for taking scratches and nicks out of these wheels. I was thinking of 2000 grit wet sand but that would damage the clear coat, especially if so of the scratches are a little deep. I got a really good deal on these rims so I can't complain and I am not looking to bring them to a shop. I was thinking about the mothers polishing ball but I don't think it would work. Any suggestions on products or methods to get the most out of these rims would be appreciated. Thanx

Welcome to the "Scratched and Dinged Polished Aluminum Wheel Crew".

BTW... The Mother's Polishing Ball (along with the appropriate polish) works great - it gives you a beautifully polished, scratched wheel A couple of "wheel repair" shops in this area wanted close to $200 each wheel to repair - no thanks, I will keep my Crew membership instead.
