Default New Trunk/Removal of Third Brake

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of converting my GT to a GT500KR tribute, and I am trying to figure out what I need to do for the trunk. The KR has SHELBY lettering across where the third brake light is, so I'll need to remove the light/buy new trunk or some such, but that leaves the question as to whether the third brake light is mandatory.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks in advance!

Well that's news to me, as far as I know the trunk is exactly the same as every mustang including the v6 and just has the shelby lettering under the brake light.

Yeah, i just googled it just in case, the lettering just goes right under the light. Hopefully we just saved you a bunch of money and effort

Hey, thanks guys. I took a better look at some more pics around and found that you were right. The pic I was looking at had the light shaded out so it didn't look like it was there. Phew! Thanks!

You can still have it shaved for a cleaner look and then use the CDC relocated 3rd brakelight

The 3rd brake light was not on the Original GT500KR of course...

And if you do not care for the look of the 3rd brake light you have a few options:

1. relocate it to the interior with any of various aftermarket 3rd brake lights made for that purpose. Then you could have the hole filled and painted at a body shop.

2. buy a 3rd brake light decal that closely matches the color of your car (or stripes) to make it blend in a lot more.

3. buy a GT500 style spoiler that covers the 3rd brake light. I guess you would want one of those aftermarket lights to put on then.
