Default Cheaper to repaint or buy from Ford?

Okay, I have the opportunity to buy a used GT/CS front bumper for $200. It's not my cars color. Ford wants $264 for a new one unpainted.

Will the used one need to be stripped before the new color goes on?

Which would be the best to have painted Vapor Silver?

What would you do?

I say Ford less headache in the, plus with stripping reprime etc you gonna get to about same price so its its more your prefrence. Wow 260 for front bumper they wanted 470 for rear...

What ahddm said. Less headache and more than likely much cheaper.

Go new. The used one is likely to be all stone chipped and will require extensive sanding or stripping to make it anywhere near new. The fewer layers of paint on it the better.

Easy enough for me. I just needed some opinions and really appreciate them.

And to share what Ford quoted me on the GT/CS bumpers unpainted:
Front bumper- $264.55
Rear bumper- $385.55

Yep, for the GT/CS front bumper it has a "lip" built in.

I'm not at work, but I believe the accessory rear CS cover is cheaper and comes with the mounting hardware also. However, Ford has been delaying all of their accessory orders (at least the ones I have ordered) by a few weeks.
