Default Easiest Way to Remove 05-09 Badging?

Ok I would like to paint the two GT fender emblems and the faux gas cap on the back to finish blacking out my car. Is there any easy way to get those things off? Would I be better off just taping the area around off and painting away?

Best thing is to use a heat gun or hair dryer on them on a warm day to get the double sided tape loose, then run some fishing line or something similar through them to pry it off the car.

In my opinion, from doing both, removing the rear badge and painting it gets better results than painting with the badge on. I used a paint scraper from walmart (about $2), and pried the emblem off. This way, I was able to get all areas without worrying about paint seeping through the tape/paper (this is what happened when I left the badge on). Not sure about the fender badges since my car never had any. But I'm sure those who have done it will say to use fishing line. Use goo-gone or alcohol to get the glue residue off. Here's a couple of pics. The first is from when I left the badge on the first time. The second, I took the badge off, and painted the entire badge, and trunk panel while the badge was off. Use 3M double sided tape to put the rear emblem back on.

leave you car in the sun for a couple hours. use some fishing line to squeeze between and to slice the 3m across the emblem

ok one more question now... aren't there two holes where the GT emblem goes? Does this mean the GT emblem is screwed in?

No...theyre just guide holes that line up the 2 pins on the back of the emblem! youll need to work the fishing line around these pins though, but its fairly simples to do.
