i bought a can of tint (and actually tinted the pony on my grille ) for around 10 bucks at o'reillys. all you need to do to prep is clean the area good (i used isopropyl alcohol) and tape off what you don't want tinted. spray on one or two coats and your are good to go. overall, it's pretty easy

Big +1 to the tints. I have always hated covers over lights for 3 reasons...
1. They make the lights look bulky.
2. They are too dark IMO.
3. Most of them have a little white logo on them.
Plus the tints would be MUCH cheaper and you would have some left over to do other lights if you wanted. It comes in a big roll at Wal*Mart for 9.96.
Of course it is more work to install the tint because you have to cut it to the right size, but it is definitely worth it. Also, with the tints, you can choose how light or dark you want it.
