Default 2007 alloy mustang smoked taillights?

Hey guys I have a 2007 alloy mustang v6. It's pretty much stock except 15% tints on the back and 25% tints on the driver and passenger door. I have a couple questions.
1. I'm located in CA. Is smoked taillights illegal?
2. Would smoked taillights look good on a nearly stock alloy mustang?
3. If I do get it, how dark should i get it? And should i smoke the reverse lights or leave it clear?
I'm looking to purchase it from this seller:

Thanks for the input.

I bought mine from him last week, hope to get them soon, I will post pics when installed. I dont think it is legal in most areas, I hope not to have any issues with the law.

Hm if I decide to buy it, I will be picking it up from the seller since I am less than 100 miles away from where the seller is located: Palm Springs. In my area, there are MANY cars with illegal tints and quite a few with smoked taillights so hopefully I won't have problems with the law. How dark did you get it smoked? And did you get the backup lights smoked too?

The laws in CA regarding the brightness of the taillights have to do with being able to see the lights from a certain distance. So yes, it is legal but make sure they are visible from the necessary distance. I've seen lots of cars with smoked tails (including mine) and no one seems to get any trouble just for that. And yes, they would look great on an Alloy mustang

wow those are expensive, not sure if its worth getting for that much. I tinted mine about two years ago with 10 dollar window tint. They look great.

I can tell you that his work is top notch and well worth the cost. I have recomend him to several people who have asked me where I got mine from. So if show quality is what your after he is your man. Note* That the price includes a full set of tail lights (3dr brake light too) all OEM. If you want to send him your tail light set he will reduce the cost since he will not have to buy a set of tail lights to paint for you.

not to hijack this thread, but if anyone is interested i have an extra set of oem tail lights. You could take them somewhere to get painted and try it out. I honestly just want to clear out the space so ill let them go real cheap, pm if interested and i can provide some pics.

It looks great imo... haha

I did however, get a citation after being pulled over for not having my front license plate on... The citation read "No Red Rear Reflectors"
