No sir. Not if you have enough gelcoat...

For those that have to have these hoods, make sure you get a shop that specialise in custom work or better yet, a Corvette shop.
Those guys will correct all the f#ck ups via muchos dineros.

In the case of the Venom hood, someone needs to make a pin locking mechanism since Shelby won't sell theirs yet.
I have rigged a system on a friend of mine GT500 and it cost him big bucks for my labor.
I can't expect my regular customers to spend that kind of dough just for that.

The Venom hood is the best looking one IMO, the 68 style pins have a lot to do with it.

I agree, when you pay that kind of money you want something with good quality. I will wait on a hood till i have time to do more research and get something that is the best quality. thanks for the heads up guys !!

Cool

I researched it to death. There was alot of negative and positive opinions, which are just that opinions. In the end I just decided I liked the GTS-4 hood the best and its what I want. So if it takes some extra prep and paint so be it, problem is I want it installed NOW ! Should be completed in a week or so.

Maybe the difference between the GTS3 and the GTS4 is the amt of prep to get them show quality (or hopefully lack of prep)......just an idea?

My TF hood cracked near the latch when I closed it too hard. I'd recommend some flush aerocatch hoods pins and avoid using the oem latch.

All you need to do is put a softer spring on the OEM latch.
Available at ACE harware store...

Does the hardware store sell a softer right arm? It would have been fine if I hadn't closed it with so much force. lol.

Pascal owns a body shop? Good to have someone with knowledge, on this kind of stuff, on here. I know nothing about bodywork. Except that it is time consuming. I am still debating on this and another hood. Ha! I'm talking like I have the money to buy it now.

I absolutely love that hood. I never realized it was that challenging to paint

Do all Tru-Fiber hoods have to be tended to as much before painting them? Wonder if the quality of Cervini's is better.
