Are you going vinyl or paint. If you are going vinyl you can't get wax on it or will be hard to remove, is what i was told from Bob White that sells them. Not sure about paint but they can spray clear over flatblack.

on a side note, does anyone know if that 'turtle wax: ice' would leave any residue on flat black; i know it doesn't on any plastics.

i decided to do some photoshops of what (i hope) the gloss and flat would look like (i'm also debating on getting a lower valance blackout, so i went ahead and darkened that too):
