Default Blackout Tunk Emblem Project

So thanks to esab's awesome write up, I got it all done. Took more time and patience than you'd think, but all in all it was a fun project. Here are some pics of the process. I'll take pictures of it on the car tomorrow when its sunny.

This is what you find when you FINALLY remove the cap. The 20lb fishing line kept breaking on me so I had to bump it up to 100lb.

Back of the cap when you pull it off.

Just so happened to find one of those "super secret tools" in my kitchen

Peeling this black stuff off was SUCH a pain.. even with the "super secret tool" (definitely the perfect tool for the job). This part took me like 45 minutes... at least

Tried to clean it all off with Goo Gone but it didnt take it off completely. Should be good enough.

Here's the cap after scuffing it with 400 grit.

And here's the final product. 3 coats of gloss black and 2 coats of clear.

Again, I'll have pics of it on my car tomorrow...

Thanks again to esab
