19's???
I have a sneeking suspicion I might get flammed for this....but is there a reason that nobody rolls 19's? Maybe noone makes a serious wheel that size, but I do see some on tire rack so I know they're available.
Since everyone's debating 18 vs 20 all the time, I suppose I've missed something obvious. Educate me. |
No flame. They are far and few between. No much of a selection out there.
|
the reason I'm going with 20" wheels and tires when my 19" get low on tread is 19 is a odd ball size and will be cheaper in long run to go to 20's than new 19" tires, why ford did this not sure.....trying to make some some cash?
|
i think most people who get 18's like to see enough tire between the rim, 20's obviously have less tire, "or a rubber band around the rim as i was once told," so 19's are to much tire for the 20 fans and not enough for the 18s, then again it is just that not often used size so the selection is poor

I'm not 100% sure if i agree about amount of tire you see, not saying you are wrong, but if you have in my case a 245/45/19 and go to a 255/35/20 and 45 and 35 represent the side wall height % of the width it pretty much stays constant i would say.

This what 255/35/20 look on my car, with wheels I want.

I wan't 19's.....
GT500's or Heritage wheels by saleen they offer the tire benefits of having low ish profile while maintaining ride quality....while they don't weigh as much as 20's they are just right imo problem is...19 inch tires aren't cheap.....19 inch wheels are VERY expensive |
I roll 19" Saleen Heritage and love 'em!
|
So I guess I'm not seeing why they're so expensive.
I found on tirerack some ASA GT1's in 19 that look cool to me. for $199/wheel. They only weigh 26 lbs too, which isn't light but it's not as heavy as most on there. They've got more 19" wheels on there than 20". And the 245/45/19's for them don't look any more expensive than 18's or 20's (between 150-200) That may be the way I go unless I'm totally missing something here. |

Be sure to get at the VERY least 8.5 inches wide (prefferrably 9 inch) front and at least 9.5 for the rear....again prefferably 10 inch ever notice how 18x9's are quite noticably cheaper than 18x10? same goes for 19's ....narrower = cheaper.....DON"T CHEAP OUT ON WIDTH! |
