Default Educate me about map light bulbs

I just want to make sure I know what to buy to change my map lights to blue LEDs.

I know some guys bought #921 for their 07 GT's, but mine is a 06 and checker says the right light for my car is a #2825. Others have put in some really random bulbs that I don't know the number.

So I have no idea, does the bulb matter as long as it's 12v?
Or does the base shape matter....I'm a complete idoit here....which size bulb do I buy to swap my map lights to LED's?

Be aware that the LED bulbs in standard bulb sockets will have a tendency to stay lit all the time. They will not shut off completely. Do a search and you will find discussions on that already in the 2010 section. You have to add a resistor to get rid of the latent energy that the LED continues to draw.

Edit: I just checked those bulbs and they appear to have the resistor already installed, so they should be good.

So those are white exterior bulbs and I don't see exactly the same thing in blue, but they do have these....

Will those work? Looks like they have the resistor too.

So 921's for sure?

note to self, for bigger profits in the future, slap "HID" into marketing terms, and mark up 300%

On another note I have the VLEDS HID WHITE for my map lights now for three years. Never an issue, they turn off when there supposed to and they look great !

Yea those will work. My lights do not turn off completely even when the car is completely off, but the amount of light is barely visible.

Also, if you get those, the first time you plug them in, they might not come on. The bulbs have an actual positive and negative end so just flip the bulb around so the leads are switch. After that, just plug them back in and that should do the trick

heres the write up also, it is a sticky under s197 appearence

https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...leds-pics.html

Also, if you order from that website, consider some license plate lights to save on shipping. I changed mine and its brighter then most luxury cars. Here what I have:

what do you guys say about 921 SilverStars? auto stores around my area don't have the LED versions but they do have the 30% improvement silverstars.
