Default Widest Tires on an 18x10 wheel.

Hey I'm going to be getting 18x10 wheels for the rear in the spring and wanted to know if anyone knew what the widest possible tires I can get on the car without it sticking out past the fender.

Not many options exist.

The "no-brainer" choice would be 285/40-18, as that is the size fitted to the rear of the GT500's at least up through 2008 and will work well on 10" wide wheels.

295/45-18, if you don't mind a taller tire (an inch and a quarter or so larger in diameter).

Anything else I saw on a quick scan over at Tirerack.com is either a competition tire or considerably shorter than OE. Or both. Translation: not suitable for street duty and/or bigger tire to fender opening gap than OE tires. There may be other tires on sites like discounttiredirect.com or mfr sites like Nitto's. Pay attention to the rim width range data and avoid choosing a tire size for which a 10.5" or wider rim is the minimum recommended.

295/40 is basically flush, the only tire I can find available in that size is the Falken Azenis RT615 which is what I ran. I am looking for alternatives close to that size.

question/opinion.......was looking at going from 19's to 18's, was wanting to go with same size all 4, this what I was looking at

but after I went to my speed shop today saw these black chrome deep dish 18x10's

was wanting to go 255/45/18 all way around,,,,,will these be good all way around will that size fit on a 10" rim, will 10" rims be ok up front too?

255/45 fits a 9", 10" would be stretched would look funny if you could even get it on there and is not within the rim width suggested by tire manufacturers.

after bunch of back and forth on this thinkin about 275/40/19 all 4 0n 19x9.5 wheels, comes out same hieght, and center, but 1/2 " wider on inside and outside of tire, make the 2010 look even beefier.
