I was looking at those to get a black plate to go with my car, but unless you order it as a 10 year package (at $300 or more) you've got to pay like, $55 a year just for a random assignment ($195 for a one year custom). And all this is on top of the standard yearly registration fees.

Top all that off with the fact they're not even stamped plates, and I think I'll stick with my already randomly assigned plates.

How much you guys pay for your plates/tags per year in Texas? Does Texas have a licensing fee plus some sort of value tax system, plus assorted levys or just a registration fee?

according to that link above there are different yearly fee's for personalized plates. Depends on the design.

Im glad I received the old 6 digit plates. The new 7 digit plates are horrible. I would easily pay the money for personalized plates than the state issued one.

the good ones run you 195 a year plus normal registration. It is a rip. too bad because I love the black with white star. and the tag i choose was available. at that price it is hard to justify....
