Nah, I'll save it for another time. It was pretty crude, even by my standards.

Personally, I used the paintbrush approach on my 2007 GT500; it was my first mod.

Can you elaborate on this paintbrush approach?

I learned about the paintbrush method in a movie called "The Karate Kid".

Nice job, 6-Speed. How did you prep it and what type paint did you use? How's it holding up?

BTW, nice suspension mods. How much of that is factory vs. aftermarket?

When I just did all of the work on the(let me clarify as to not be mistaken) rear suspension of my car, I didn't want to look at anything other than the sway bar, end links, and the fresh black finish on the panhard rod. Everything else just looked ugly. Maybe I'll turn the heaters on in my garage and make it a project when I can leave my car parked long enough. I'd like some elaboration on the paint brush method also, I'm not fond of overspray.

It is disappointing to see bare rusted iron on a rew 2011 vehicle.

Mine also resembles the before picture.

Thanks! I guess I missed some of these follow-on posts.

The prep/paint on my axle is holding up just fine. I prepped the axle by cleaning with POR15 Marine Clean and Metal Ready, which removed the rust. I masked off the areas I did not want to paint. Then I applied 2 coats of Master Series Silver primer and followed that with a coat of Master Series Black satin top coat .. all with a brush. The finish is not as smooth as if you spray painted it; if you look close, you can see some brush marks and some blemishes. I should have sanded the primer coats for a smoother finish.

With regards to the suspension mods, they include Ford Racing springs and a BMR adjustable panhard bar and brace ... just the bare essential IMO.

I know Ford finally stared painting late 2010 and 2011 GT500 rear axles ... I'm surprised the 2011 Mustangs would not receive the same treatment.
