Ok, I think I was able to decipher that...
Since nobody will be getting within a few feet of the driveshaft, axle and anything else under the car, it really doesn't matter if the finish is pristine or not. A light sanding to get the heavy rust off followed by a primer and then your paint, be it sprayed or brushed, should look just fine. Unless, of course, you're **** and can disassemble anything you want painted and have it clear-coated, too...
