To Clone or not to Clone
#21
I honestly don't think badging is a bad thing if the car looks and drives like the car it was modded after. I mean if this guy's stang looks exactly like a Stage 1 and drives like a Stage 1, why not just label it as a Stage 1? I think building a car up is more fun than just turning a key anyway.

I agree, cloning or badging should not be looked down on. There are 100's of clones/tribute cars that go through Barrett Jackson every year and nobody freaks out about those. I say, it's your car, if you want to clone it, do it. However, if someone asks you if it's a clone, you should be honest.

laugh away then.. and you're with everyone else? I think you're the 2nd person in this thread to say no.. so you're in the minority.

Well alrighty then...I think I'll just make it my own like I did with my truck. I even LIKE the tan interior and top. Black burns my butt!
I still plan to do the hood scoop and the CAI. If I chip it I will most likely go with DiabloSport but I don't go to the track any more so it may just stay stock.
Oh, by the way...here's what my truck looks like

I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my Stang...When I bought it, the previous owner already added the Roush hood scoop and window louvers...Now I'd like to buy the front fascia, chin spoiler, rocker panels, rear valance and the Roush exhaust with rectangular tips....I wouldn't remove my GT badges for Roush badges cuz it would be only a clone..
